Who can join the NARM training?

The NARM Practitioner Training is an advanced clinical training designed for mental health professionals: psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, marriage and family therapists, social workers and somatic psychotherapy practitioners.

Applications from coaches, educators and other helping professionals who work with trauma are also considered; suitability is clarified together based on the information in the application form.

How is NARM different from EMDR or Somatic Experiencing (SE)?

EMDR and SE were primarily developed to work with the physiological imprint of shock trauma in the nervous system. NARM was designed for developmental and complex trauma: it addresses at the same time the identity distortions shaped in early attachment relationships and the accompanying physiological dysregulation.

NARM is also non-regressive — instead of taking clients back to the past, it works in the present moment with how the past organises today. Many EMDR and SE practitioners use NARM as an overarching framework that complements their existing skills.

What will the training language be? Will interpretation be provided?

In the Turkey program the training language will be English, with professional consecutive interpretation into Turkish. Practice groups and interim consultations will run in Turkish.

What is the format of the Practitioner Training?

The training runs as four modules (each 5 full days) spaced 4–6 months apart — a journey of roughly two years, from 2026 to 2028. Each module weaves together theoretical presentations, live demonstration sessions, small-group practice and debrief sessions.

All modules take place in person at the Istanbul Retreat centre in Istanbul-Beykoz; participants may attend with or without accommodation. Between modules, learning continues through practice groups. See the training calendar.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of the training?

Yes. Participants who complete all four modules and the training requirements receive the internationally recognised NARM Practitioner certificate and become eligible for the official NARM Practitioner Directory.

I'd like to experience NARM as a client. Where do I start?

You can find a certified NARM practitioner working online through the international practitioner directory. For a list of Turkish-speaking practitioners, write to us — this list will grow as the Turkish cohort graduates.

For self-guided exploration, the book Healing Developmental Trauma is a powerful starting point.

What are the fees and payment terms?

The training fee is €1,100 + VAT per module. Paying all four modules upfront costs €3,950 + VAT in total — a saving of €450.

Pre-registration is non-binding and free of charge; for payment details, simply fill in the application form.

What is NARM Turkey's relationship with the global NARM Training Institute?
